Midtown Educational Foundation provides enrichment programs for low-income urban youth in Chicago, focusing on academic excellence, virtue development, individual attention, and parental engagement. MEF runs Metro Achievement Center for girls and Midtown Center for boys, serving students in grades 4 through 12.
For the past eight years, I have been a part of Metro's summer program staff. Last summer, I taught Science and Character Education to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.
During the school year, I serve on the foundation's Auxiliary Board, a community of young professionals who serve as ambassadors for MEF through social fundraising, volunteer engagement, and organizational awareness. Last year, our annual fundraiser, the Soiree, raised over $60,000 for the students at Midtown and Metro. (Join us this year on May 17th at Architechtural Artifacts!)
The students at Midtown and Metro give me a tremendous amount of hope for the future of the young people of Chicago. With the skills and strategies that they are learning from Midtown and Metro, I know that these young men and women will continue on their pathway to success and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Thank you for investing in the positive futures of MEF students and their families!
